Matthew Morrison is a first-year DMA student at the University of North Texas. Prior to UNT, Matthew served as the Director of Choirs at Collierville High School outside Memphis, Tennessee. During his tenure, the CHS choirs consistently earned Sweepstakes and Superior ratings while performing both internationally and on the TMEA stage. Matthew also served as music director for frequent Draco Playhouse musical productions and coached many performers onto the New York stage. He has held various leadership positions within the profession, including chairing multiple Southern ACDA Honor Choirs and All Southwest Tennessee Senior High Honor Choirs, as well as serving as a mentor teacher for University of Memphis teaching residents. Prior to CHS, Matthew was the Director of Choirs at Kinsella Magnet School of Performing Arts in Hartford, Connecticut, where he taught choir, piano, and music theory.

Matthew holds a Bachelor’s of Music in Choral Music Education from Ithaca College and a Master’s of Music in Choral Conducting from Florida State University. In his free time, he enjoys cooking, long walks, and reading whenever he can.
