Caden Ridge is the Graduate Academic Counselor at the College of Music. As an educator, he has maintained private bassoon studios and taught band in both the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex and Mid-Michigan. He has performed with orchestras and chamber groups throughout Texas, Michigan, and Arkansas. A proponent for the promotion of new music, he has premiered new works for wind quintet, bassoon, and other chamber ensembles. Dr. Ridge is also an avid early musician, specializing in early reed instruments and enjoying research on early bassoons and recorders.
Dr. Ridge holds a D.M.A. in Bassoon Performance from the University of North Texas, an M.M. in bassoon performance and a graduate diploma in music theory from Michigan State University, and a Bachelor's in Music Education from the University of North Texas. In his free time, Caden enjoys hiking, traveling, gardening, and spending time with his family.
